Financial Aid has failed me. Epically. I've been accepted to study for a year at Queen Mary University in London (OMFG), but! Because I was born on January 3rd, and not three days prior, legally I am considered a dependent of my father. I've been living on my own for two years now, working two jobs while going to school, and paying my own bills.
My father cannot and will not be giving me any money. Ever. I hardly even speak to him. My mother is not in this world of existence. But the law considers my age to be "dependent", regardless. So, I don't get the Pell Grant ($3,500), which means I can't get the FSEOG ($5,000)OR the Gilman Scholarship ($5,000). I am suddenly $13,500 down and even with that money it was going to be hard enough to pay for it! With everything included, my total amount of money needed is $37,000. Before, it was possible. Now...
BUT I'm not giving up! I'm going to do everything I can (within legal boundaries
) to make that damn money myself!
